Bananas are well known for their potassium content, but they’re also a good source of manganese, vitamin C, vitamin B6 and folate.
Choose bananas with slight green on the stem and tip as they ripen after harvest. They should be firm without bruises. Store unripe bananas at room temperature and ripe bananas in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. The skin may turn black, but this just means it is time for a Banana Smoothie, Banana Bread, or Banana Pancakes.
