Here’s what you’ll Need

There’s nothing quite like the flavors of a banana dipped in chocolate and stuffed with yummy fillings. For these treats, you need only 4 different ingredients!

  • Bananas: First up, you’ll need 2 bananas. We’ll slice these real thin snd stuff them with yums!
  • Nut Butter: Next comes nut butter, a rich and creamy filling that tastes so good with the chocolate and banana. You’ll need ¼ cup of any type, such as almond or peanut butter.
  • Fruit: For the fruit portion, you can use jam, jelly, or fruit compote in the amount of ¼ cup. Make it easily at home with our Pectin-Free Jam or Cherry Chia Jam!
  • Chocolate: Last but not least, you will need ½ cup of dark chocolate chips! Feel free to use whatever chocolate you have or like (semi-sweet or even white chocolate would be tasty here).

How to make These stuffed banana bites

These banana bites are an easy-peasy treat that can be prepared in 15 minutes. The best part is that no baking is required, just a little bit of melting, chilling, assembling, and freezing!

Step 1: Slice the bananas
First, cut the bananas into thin slices, about ¼ inch thick. Arrange half of the slices on a parchment lined sheet or plate.

Step 2: Add the filling
Spread a thin layer of nut butter onto each slice, then top with a small dollop of jam (don’t use too much nut butter or jam, as this could cause the top piece to slide off). Top each piece with another banana slice.

Step 3: Freeze
Move the sheet with the bananas to the freezer and freeze until firm, at least 30 minutes.

Step 4: Prep the chocolate
While the bananas freeze, add the chocolate chips to a glass mixing bowl. Bring a small pot of water to a simmer, and then set the bowl of chocolate over the boiling pot (the bottom of the bowl should be hovering over the water, but not touching it). Stir constantly until the chocolate chips have melted, then remove the bowl from above the water.

Step 5: Dip the bananas
Dip half of each banana bite into the chocolate to coat, then return to the parchment-lined sheet. When all of the bananas are coated, pop them back in the freezer for a few minutes to allow the chocolate to harden.

Step 6: Serve
Serve immediately, or store in the freezer. If the bananas have frozen through, allow them to soften for just a few minutes before serving.

Looking for some ways to switch up your recipe? After dipping in the chocolate, sprinkle with sprinkles, crushed nuts, or even cinnamon!

You can also use white chocolate or a different kind of nut butter and jam! You’d be surprised at how much switching from strawberry to grape jam changes the overall flavor.

I love these and they are so simple. I took a plate to a friends house, and she asked if I got them at our favorite bakery. Great recipe. Thanks.
