The top 22 new recipes from 2022, with everything from the vegetarian classics to decadent dishes!

The most popular recipes of 2022 spanned the whole culinary spectrum. I made a bunch of vegetarian classics that you all loved, like tofu marinades and nuggets galore.
But with almost 1,000 vegetarian recipes on Live Eat Learn, I also branched out into some fun flavor projects, and was so excited when you jumped on board with me! Some of the standouts were:
Truffles Week, where I bought exactly 3 truffles on Etsy and created 7 billion truffle recipes from them, because when would I ever buy myself truffles again?
Herb Month, because a week wasn’t going to cut it. I created ingredient guides and a recipe to pair with 10 different herbs in March, totaling 21 new posts in March. It was a delicious doozy!
Passion Fruit Week, where I accidentally purchased far, far too many passion fruits on Etsy (my new source for all exotic ingredients).
Dog Week, where I shared a few recipes that both you AND your dog can enjoy (a few of these recipes hit our Top 22 list! See #16, #14, and #12). This was all to launch the biggest project of the year, our dog food blog called Bone Appétreat!
Bone Appétreat started as a happy accident. One of my hobbies (nay, one of the things I do to procrastinate actual work) is seeing what domain names are still available and buying them to eventually turn into a website (maybe I need cooler hobbies). One night while putzing around I found that BoneAppetreat.com was still available. For a dog obsessed food blogger, it just made sense.
I spent the following 6 months building out the site and content, Rhubarb begrudgingly modeling on recipe shoot days. I even built my first online shop for dog lovers! While Live Eat Learn will always be my main focus and one true love, Bone Appétreat has been such a fun way to think outside the box and challenge myself this year.
Now…to the recipes! These were the Top 22 new recipes of 2022. (P.S. for a time machine ride see top recipes of 2021, 2020, and 2019).
Top Recipes of 2022
Featured on Good Morning America, this Watermelon Pizza was the 22nd most popular new recipe on Live Eat Learn this year!
With grocery prices rising this year, I created a bunch of recipes to help reduce food waste. This panzanella, which uses stale bread to create the most delicious salad, fit the bill perfectly!
I had to throw in a few classics, like these crunchy tofu nuggets.
Inspired by the giant bunch of Italian parsley about to go bad in my fridge, I create a salad where the leafy greens is the parsley. Garnish no more!
I'd been wanting to do a halloumi feature for years, and finally got my hands on a few blocks of this squeaky cheese! The halloumi burger was an instant reader-favorite.
Creamy on the inside, crunchy on the outside. What more could you want?
Not only is this omelette ridiculously high in protein, your dog can eat it too! This was the first in our dog series, where I shared delicious dishes that can be enjoyed by the WHOLE family, human and fur baby.
With Rhubarb turning one this year, I obviously had to make her a cake. With fluffy mashed potato frosting, she was obsessed.
Who says you can't have a banana split for breakfast?
A product of our wild and delicious herb month! This basil oil is *perfect* on a caprese salad.
With people finally going back into the office, I created a few recipes that could be enjoyed on the go. This choose-your-adventure egg muffin cup situation was a favorite!
Another recipe that had been on my list for ages to make. Once I tasted it, I wondered what had taken me so long!
I've been all about the *ultimate guides* lately. The one stop shops. So naturally I couldn't just give you one tempeh marinade, I gave you eight!
Because what better way to amp up pizza night than with SHAVED TRUFFLES!
In the spring I did a whole leek week! We made quiche and a tart and risotto, but this simple roasted leeks recipe was the crowd favorite.
Garlic week was a delicious time in 2022. And this garlic confit? A game changer.
Isnpired by the 3 truffles I bought on Etsy, I set out to learn how to make truffle oil and created this guide from my research!
I'm a sucker for bao buns, and 2022 was the year I finally learned how to make them.
Another ultimate guide, this time with my favorite ingredient of all, chickpeas!
In case you too find yourself with more passion fruits than you can count...make this puree!
I'm not sure how I went 8 year of blogging without an avocado toast recipe, but I changed that in 2022 (and it quickly shot up to become the #2 new recipe of the year!)
And the MOST POPULAR new recipe of 2022 is, as no surprise on a vegetarian food blog, marinated tofu! This was such a fun recipe to test and create, and I'm so happy you all loved eating it as much as I loved creating it!
