h=Here’s what you’ll need
Just a few ingredients combine to create a creamy smoothie that tastes like pie! This is just an overview; jump to the recipe card for full measurements!
- Banana: Freeze your banana slices ahead of time to make this lime smoothie cold and frosty.
- Yogurt: Plain Greek yogurt makes this smoothie rich and creamy. You could also add a dollop of cream cheese or cottage cheese for a more decadent cheesecake smoothie.
- Lime: You can use key or regular lime juice, but aim for fresh juice where possible. (Be sure to save a slice of lime for the garnish!)
- Sweetener: I love honey in this smoothie, but you could also use liquid sugar, agave, or maple syrup.
- Vanilla: Finish it with a dash of vanilla extract to bring that pie feeling!
key limes versus regular limes
Key limes are usually only available in the summer. They are smaller and sweeter than regular limes. You can also buy key lime juice in-store, which is perfect for this smoothie. Otherwise, regular limes work just fine; just add a little more honey.

the lime and the coconut
To make that festive rim from the photos, dip a cup in white chocolate and roll it in toasted coconut mixed with crushed graham crackers. You can also use coconut yogurt in place of Greek yogurt for more coconut flavor.

smoothie Variations
- A Lemonade Smoothie: This recipe also works great with fresh lemon juice and zest!
- Make Popsicles: In the mood for popsicles? Add a touch more honey, then freeze the mixture into homemade popsicles!
- Add Protein: You can boost the protein content by adding cottage cheese or one of your favorite vanilla protein powders.
- Nutritious Boosters: To add fiber and protein to this shake, you can add flax seeds, chia seeds, or hemp seeds.

Smoothies with greek yogurt in it are the best! 🙂 I’ll have to try this one out!
Definitely, I buy a giant tub of low fat Greek yogurt at the start of each week and use it everyday for smoothies!
This looks so yummy! I make a smoothie similar to this every morning but with mango instead of lime.
Oh yum I bet that’d be great! Unfortunately I just do not have the patience to peel and cut a mango in the mornings, but perhaps I’ll give it a go some afternoon 🙂
