Watermelon Recipes

Watermelon is a kid friendly treat that is also a good source of vitamin A, vitamin C, and potassium. One of our favorite uses for watermelon is to throw a few pieces of the watermelon rind into your smoothie for an instant fiber boost (but if that’s too much for you, give one of the watermelon recipes below a try, like watermelon salad or watermelon steak). 

When buying, choose symmetrical watermelons with dried stems and yellowish undersides which are heavy for their size. Store whole watermelons at room temperature, but refrigerate cut watermelons in airtight containers for use within 5 days.
