A dog wearing a brown costume with red plaid ear flaps stands on a hardwood floor in a home, looking up, ready for Lets Gab in December 2022.

I almost decided against a Let’s Gab post this month (in lieu of maybe washing my hair or finding an outfit for NYE tonight or writing down even one single resolution).

But I like chronicling the months of the year, and this month had a lot going on! Between life and work, it was busy and colorful and delicious.

The month kicked off with a big birthday bash to celebrate all the December birthdays in our circle. The theme: 90’s Christmas. Everyone took their own creative liberty in deciphering that one, but there was no shortage of butterfly clicks or ring pops.

In December 2022, a person plays Twister on a foggy floor at a party, with a dog nearby, colorful lights flashing, and a TV in the backgroundโ€”Letโ€™s Gab about unforgettable nights!.

Not to be out done, sister and I hosted our 2nd Annual Spotify Wrapped Party (which we also rolled into our 2nd Annual White Elephant). The idea is to dress as your top Spotify artist then dance around all night to everyone’s favorite songs.

At a Lets Gab party in December 2022, four people in costumes gather indoorsโ€”one playing guitarโ€”while colorful light spots dance throughout the scene.

And while I still haven’t managed to hit the slopes yet this year (what a terrible Colorado resident!), We scored last minutes seats to an Avs game and putzed around the cold and snowy Grand Lake area in the name of adventure.

Speaking of cold and snowy, Denver was hit by a cold front that rivaled my childhood in Alaska, dropping to -15F. Rhubarb, who hasn’t let me carry her since she was 5 months old, had no hesitation in jumping into my arms to avoid touching the cold ground (yes, she has booties).

We spent the rest of the month cuddled up with family and baking! Mom and Dad flew into Denver (perks of living with your sister = mom and dad come to you). I made my favorite chocolate chunk cookies and my annual sticky date cinnamon rolls. We scratched lottery tickets and played frisbee in our pajamas.

When our parents flew out Christmas morning we did what any small group of misfits left (or stranded) in Denver for the holidays would do and had a boozy brunch turned boozy day. I was told to dress in Christmas formal, and this was the best I could do.

In the headquarters we have BIG THINGS coming. As in, TOMORROW (January 1st).
