A wet brown and white dog wearing a harness stands on the edge of a blue kayak, floating on crystal-clear water with rocks visible beneath the surfaceโ€”a picturesque moment from August 2021.

Bebe Takes Flight

In the words of the great Taylor Swift, August slipped away like a bottle of wine. But what a delicious bottle it was!

The month began with a big milestone in little Rhubarb’s life…first flight! I realized this was probably the only time Rhubs would be small enough to travel with me, so I jumped at the chance and flew her down to San Antonio to meet some of my favorite people!

In August 2021, a small brown and white dog with blue eyes and a pink harness sits next to a black suitcase with a yellow strap in an indoor area, ready for their next adventure. Lets gab about those dreamy blue eyes!.

She got to meet her boyfriend Blaze, the pup who inspired me to adopt her in the first place. And she visited my favorite spots in town, to include the Riverwalk and the Friendly Spot. And she even learned to kayak on the Comal River!

In the warm glow of August 2021, a person sits in a car, smiling broadly while holding a small dog. Beside them, their larger canine companion rests contentedly, all sharing a moment of joy that needs no words to fill the silence.
Amidst vibrant greenery and red blooms, a person embraces a puppy outdoors. In the backdrop of August 2021s serene landscape lies a tranquil body of water alongside an architectural marvelโ€”an ideal moment to capture and share with the Lets Gab community.
In August 2021, a person in a blue kayak paddles through a shallow river, with a dog eagerly perched at the front. Wearing a wide-brimmed hat and life vest, they are surrounded by lush trees and greenery, creating the perfect scene for an episode of Lets Gab.

The Bonds are Back in town

We returned back to Denver and were welcomed by…my parents! The last time they visited, I had only just moved to Colorado. The house was a mess, life was a mess, and I was a useless tour guide.

This time was different. I showed them all my favorite spots, to include a hike up Saint Mary’s Glacier and a meal at Bigsby’s Folly!

In August 2021, three friends and their small dog sat on a rock by a snowy slope under a partly cloudy sky, enjoying the peaceful moment together.
A dog wearing a harness sits on a large rock with a leash, surrounded by lush greenery and a shimmering lake in the backgroundโ€”a picturesque moment from our Lets Gab adventure in August 2021.
In August 2021, two women smile by the lakeside, with mountains and trees as their backdrop. One sporting a backpack and the other with a fanny pack, they hold a dog between them, ready for some adventure. Its the perfect scene to say, Lets Gab.
In a blue bowl, a salad with mixed greens, sliced watermelon radishes, olives, and seeds invites a fresh summer taste reminiscent of August 2021. Nearby, a glass of white wine waits to accompany this delightful scene. Lets gab about the perfect pairing!.

We also hit a few of Mom’s Colorado bucket list items, like the Molly Brown House Museum and a trip up to Estes and Rocky Mountain National Park! Despite some pretty heavy smoke that hid most of the mountain ranges from us, it was a gorgeous drive that I can’t wait to do again!

A vintage room from August 2021 showcases a polished wooden piano, a polar bear rug, and a stained glass lamp. Red drapes lead to a library brimming with bookshelvesโ€”a perfect setting for Lets Gab!.

And S’More Camping

It wouldn’t be a summer month in Colorado without a little camping! Rhubarb, who has now gone on 5 camping trips in her little life, deserves a badge.

We did a trip at a cute little spot near Buena Vista, setting up camp next to a frigid swimming hole that Rhubs was decidedly not a fan of. She much preferred snoozing under the sleeping bag.

A few weekends later we headed westbound for Silverthorne! While I didn’t create anything quite as tasty as our camping food series (hellooooo campfire mac & cheese), I did learn the delicious simplicity of fire toasted bagels, beans on the fire, and portable stove eggs in holes.

Summer Livin’

And as if there were any threat of boredom, that was quickly alleviated by all my best friends coming into today for a weekend of white water tubing in Golden and reggae music as Red Rocks!

In the Headquarters

So anyways, August was a whirlwind. But in all the cracks of free time I managed to squeeze in some work!

I did a series of virtual classes on how to make popsicles to a few Fortune 500 companies. To say it pushed me out of my comfort zone would be an understatement, but I had a blast putting it all together and making popsicles live with families all over the world!

And I started working on the recipes that will be coming out this fall, to include these buffalo chickpea collard wraps (๐Ÿคค) and some fun apple recipes (Rhubs acted as shoot assistant, painstakingly polishing each apple with her tongue).

And that’s the gab for August! I hope your summer has been filled with popsicles and watermelon and happy times. See you in the fall!
