Grapefruit Recipes

Half a Grapefruit only has about 44 calories but provides 65% of your daily need for vitamin C. The old belief that grapefruit has fewer calories than is required to digest it is, unfortunately, false, but don’t let that deter you from trying some of our tasty grapefruit recipes!

When selecting grapefruit, check the texture. It should feel plump and heavy as if it’s about to burst with sweet grapefruit juice. In general, ripe citrus will have smooth, thin skin. Give the grapefruit a nice squeeze to see if it’s firm. Firm all the way around is a good sign. There are several varieties to choose from. Skin colors range from green to gold, and flesh may vary from yellow to crimson with a full spectrum of flavors inside.

Store the whole grapefruit at room temperature up to a week or for 2 to 3 weeks in the refrigerator. Tip: You’ll find grapefruit to be juicier and sweeter if you return it to room temperature right before serving.

So, pick a grapefruit recipe and enjoy them for other than the traditional grapefruit half topped with sugar, and check back from time to time to see what new grapefruit recipes we come up with!
