German Cheese Spaetzle 


Nothing says comfort like a heaping bowl of German Cheese Spaetzle (or Käsespätzle)!

You'll Need:

Onions Butter Spaetzle Swiss Cheese Gruyere Cheese Salt

Step 1

Caramelize Onions: Thinly slice the onions into strips. Melt butter in a large, heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat. Add the onions and cook, stirring often, until onions turn golden brown.

Step 2

Spaetzle: Meanwhile, cook spaetzle according to instructions on package.

Step 3

Assemble: While everything is still hot, stir together cooked spaetzle, caramelized onions, and shredded cheeses. If cheese doesn't melt completely, cover and transfer to a warm oven for a few minutes.
