Fizzy Cold Brew Coffee is the perfect beverage for warm, sunny days. The carbonation provides a pick-me-up, and it’s ideal for sipping while sitting outside!
To serve: Ice, cream, simple syrup, squeeze of lemon
Instructions
Steep: In a large pitcher or bowl, combine ground coffee and water. Cover and let sit in fridge for 12 to 24 hours.
Strain: Strain the coffee concentrate through a towel-lined mesh sieve (or a French press). Measure your coffee concentrate and add water as needed to reach 1 cup, drizzling the water through the grinds to get as much coffee as possible.
Flavor (optional): This drink is best with simple syrup and lemon to counteract the bitterness of the carbonation. To make simple syrup, combine 1 part sugar and 1 part water, stirring until dissolved. Add simply syrup and a squeeze of fresh lemon to your serving glass.
Fizz: Add ice to the glass, then fill it ⅓ full with coffee concentrate. Top it off with carbonated water, optionally adding a splash of cream.
Notes
This does not store well once assembled. It loses carbonation and becomes bitter. Best enjoyed as soon as you mix it togetheer.
Store cold brewed coffee concentrate in an airtight container in the fridge for 1 to 2 weeks.
